TULIPA, lasered wood, hand colored, with black metal ball chain.
In 1562 the first tulip bulb came from Turkey to Western-Europe. During the 17th century there was the so called ‘tulip mania’ in Holland. In those days tulips were very popular, even as a product for speculation. They became extremely expensive. In 1637 the whole tulip-trade collapsed; catastrophic for a lot of speculators. Nowadays tulips are still important for and associated with The Netherlands.
In yellow and red, to combine with TULIPA earrings and brooch.
