The Secrets of Marten and Oopjen
€125.00
Because of the exhibition High Society in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam I received the honorable assignment to incorporate the portraits of Marten Soolmans and Oopjen Coppit immortalized by Rembrandt in 1634 into a contemporary shawl design.
In the design of this shawl, Marten and Oopjen are a bit hidden behind the historical floral lace. What are their secrets?
The translation of delicate lace from times gone by also appeals to modern people in this contemporary fashion design.
As a reminder of the opulence during the Dutch Golden Age, in addition to the rich lace several pearls have been printed in the design, symbolizing patience, purity, love, fertility and peace.
The shawls are produced sustainably in the Netherlands with digital print on 100% silk.
The dimensions are 160x41 cm.
The scarf comes in a luxury gift packaging.
